The Bourne Parish Safeguarding Responsibilities

The PCC of The Bourne Parish is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of the vulnerable within our church community, and also to encouraging an environment where all people and especially those who may be vulnerable are able to worship and pursue their faith journey in a safe way.

Parish Safeguarding Arrangements

Every year the PCC will review and adopt the Church of England Safeguarding Policies, displaying a copy of the signed statement in a prominent position in the church.

The Parish is committed to safer recruitment as a key way of protecting children and adults from harm by ensuring the careful recruitment of those working with them.  Specifically, the Parish appoints all leaders and helpers in accordance with the relevant sections of the CofE's Safer Recruitment and People Management Guidance, accessible here    and has adopted a Policy on Recruitment and Employment of Ex-offenders, accessible here
The Parish operates a number of specific, regular activities for the benefit of children and young people.  These church activities comply with the CofE document ‘Safer Environment and Activities’, accessible here
