Brambleton Community Fridge

The way it works is that supermarkets give the food they-can-no-longer-sell-but-is-still-perfectly-edible to charity every day.  A community fridge collects this food and invites the public to take what they can eat. Our community fridge operate with various partners including Waitrose, who have agreed to give us their surplus food every Friday morning.  On Friday afternoon we will open the hall to distribute it to anyone who can help eat it - free of charge.  The food is delicious, but it needs to find homes quickly.

The fridge is a really proactive way both to reduce food waste and share what we have with one another; to reach out and to bless the local community.

Watch this video to learn more about it.

There are lots of ways to get involved.  We need volunteers to make collections from Waitrose and other locations and to help with the distribution.  Please get in touch via our Volunteer Form

Interfaith Group

Women of The Bourne with Tilford meet with the women from the Islamabad Ahmadiyya community twice each term to share our living approach to modern culture through the lens of our own faith.
We find joy each meeting as we discover how much women of faith have in common, as we learn to walk the path of faith where appropriate together and as we appreciate each others’ culture.

Ladies Walk and Talk

Do you enjoy walking?  The Ladies Walk and Talk group may be just what you are looking for!
The Ladies Walk and Talk group is open to all in the community who enjoy walking the lovely local paths, or we sometimes drive in shared cars to locations a bit further afield.   We walk for around 60-90 minutes and then return to the church for coffee ensuring we finish by noon.
The walks are held on the first Friday of the month and we meet at St Thomas’s church at 9.45am for a 10.00am start returning for coffee.  Click here for our 2024 Programme .

We love to have new people join us so just turn up and enjoy some fresh air, exercise and chit chat!  No need to say in advance if you are coming.  If you need any further information, please ring Sue Redfern on 01252 726695.
