Stewardship February began on Sunday with a sermon by our vicar.
Stewardship Sunday is our annual opportunity to re-imagine our giving as part of the rhythm of our shared walk with God.
Our priority for 2023 is to encourage every church member / couple / family to commit to giving monthly via the Parish Giving Scheme, and, if already giving, to consider how each of us might review our level of giving to reflect the parish’s circumstances:-
· Costs are increasing rapidly, reflecting high rates of inflation
· Our general parish reserves are half the level we should be operating at and urgently need rebuilding
· Our average giving levels are more than 20% lower than the Guildford diocesan average
· Many people still give via the yellow envelope scheme and cash donations which significantly increases administration for the parish
