Burns Night

Burns Night, Saturday 31st January, 7.00pm, at St Thomas'

The Bourne Parish present the now famous evening of fun and friendly fellowship. Scottish reels are danced in the nave accompanied by the Craigievar Scottish Dance Band. With a traditional meal of haggis – welcomed ceremoniously with the skirl of the bagpipes – neeps (swede) and tatties (mashed potato) + pudding.

There is a cash bar for all your drinks. Come as a group (tables of 8 or 10) or on your own. £25 per person.

Christian Aid Recitals, Tuesdays During Lent: 3rd March - 7th April, 12.00pm at St Thomas'

Enjoy this special series of six midday concerts, featuring some of our finest local talent. The artists are all generously donating their time, in the hope of making this a record-breaking fundraising event for Christian Aid.

Put your thinking caps on and come with your competitive spirit. Test your musical knowledge with and against your friends. Team up as a group and make it a sociable and fun evening for all. There will be a musical prize for the winning team!

Farnham & Bourne Choral Society

Farnham & Bourne Choral Society Concert: Friday 21st March, 7.30pm at St Thomas'

Farnham and Bourne Choral Society is a mixed, all ages choir with a classical repertoire, based in Farnham, Surrey. The choir has over 100 members and performed its first concert in 1925 and continues to play a major part in Farnham’s varied musical culture. The French themed performance offers – Fauré Cantique de Jean Racine, Vierne Messe Solonnelle and Fauré’s Requiem.

Vox Chamber Choir

Vox Chamber Choir Concert, Date TBC, 7.30pm at St Thomas'

Well known vocal ensemble, the Vox Chamber Choir, will be performing a wide range of music from early to contemporary, sacred and secular.Formed in 2002, now under the directorship of Rob Lewis, Vox is a group of around 20 experienced singers from in and around the Farnham area. Vox provide additional variety to their concerts with solo and group instrumentalists, and recent concerts have included piano, organ, saxophone and strings both as accompaniment and solos.

Tickets £13 in advance, £16 on the door, U/18 free.

Armed Man

Come and Sing: Armed Man - A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins: Saturday 16th May, 5.00pm at St Thomas'

This evening concert is the culmination of a hard but fun day’s work. If you are interested in singing and being part of the show, come and join other voices during the day under the tutorship of Rob Lewis, learning and rehearsing the parts before the evening performance in front of your friends and family.

       Graham Kendrick

An Evening with Graham Kendrick: Saturday 13th June, 7.30pm at St Thomas'

Graham has been described as “a father of modern worship music”. For more than 30 years Graham has been at the forefront of Christian music in the UK having written and recorded hundreds of songs, many of which are well known around the world, including Shine Jesus Shine, Knowing You, The Servant King and Amazing Love. This concert with Graham and his band promises to be one of the most intimate and memorable ever held at St Thomas-on-The Bourne and early booking is strongly advised.

Andrew & Alex

A Summer Concert at St Thomas', Saturday 4 July, 6.00pm

A wonderful summer evening concert of piano and song, featuring Andrew Harrap and Alex Thow on piano, and singers from St Thomas' Choir.

Andrew is Organ Scholar at St Thomas' and plays the organ regularly during services, as well as playing the piano regularly in concerts, both as a soloist and accompanist. As a pianist, Andrew achieved a high pass in his LRSM diploma in 2014. 

Alex has sung in St Thomas' Choir since 2011, first as a treble and more recently as a counter-tenor. He passed his ARSM when he was 15, and his LTCL just after his GCSEs. He is also learning to play the organ.

There will be an interval with refreshments, and a retiring collection in aid of choir funds and other good causes. Entry free. 

Rome

The Bourne Choir's Post-Tour Concert - Rome Revisited: Sunday 13th September, 6.00pm at St Thomas'

Fresh from their tour of Rome, the choir of St. Thomas-on- The Bourne will share some of the highlights of their memorable musical adventure. A real chance to be blessed by the beauty of one of the country’s finest church choirs...Ours!

St Martin's Hall

Christian Aid Concert at St Martin's Hall, Saturday 26th September 7.30pm

St Martin’s host their annual fundraising concert for Christian Aid as part of their Harvest celebrations. The evening’s concert will feature a small ensemble of players performing a wide variety of different music styles, appealing to various musical tastes.

Tickets £15. Interval refreshments included. Please note, this concert will be held in St Martin’s Hall, adjacent to the Church. 

Michael Card Concert: Saturday 26th September, 7.30pm at St Thomas'

Michael Card is widely regarded as one of America’s finest Christian singer/songwriters. His worship songs have won awards around the world and with over forty albums and 20 books to his name, it goes without saying his repertoire is extensive. The quality of Michael's material is evidenced on many of his recordings with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, whilst his acoustic tracks bring an intimate feeling that quite simply leaves the listener wanting more! This concert is part of Michael's UK tour and not to be missed.

Zimbe

Zimbe: Saturday 10th October, 5.00pm, at St Thomas'

 ZIMBE! (pronounced Zimbay) is a vibrant sequence of twelve African and Gospel songs charting the day in the life of an African village. An incredible, lively musical performance written by English composer Alexander L’Estrange and brought to life by a collective of local schools. This rousing yet moving show captures the spirit and energy of African music in all its genres. These local performers know you’re going to love it and, can’t wait to share it with you!
