Richard Lane has had a lifelong ambition to play one of Mozart’s masterpieces, the Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola.  As a child, he learned to play half of it in his parents’ living room in Bedford, when he was fully sighted.  Since becoming blind, he has spent a long time memorising the entire work and is now excited about performing it with friends: John Shayler on viola, and Muriel Phillips on piano.  The concert will also include Elgar’s sonata for violin and piano.
